Downriver from Mazama, at the confluence of the Methow & Chewuch Rivers, the Old West theme town of Winthrop is the hub of tourist activity for the Methow Valley. Stroll the wooden boardwalks, marvel at vintage signage and take in a wide variety of shops, restaurants and lodging. Winthrop is
home to the School House Brewery, Methow Valley Cider House, Sixknot Tap House, Lariat Coffee Roasters and Lost River Winery.

Winthrop offers basic amenities – Thriftway grocery store, gas stations, a post office and the new, beautiful Barnyard Cinema – as well as the Winthrop Fitness Center, newly expanded Little Star Montessori School and the Winthrop Ice Rink.

Don’t miss the Shaffer Museum, brimming with the town’s history and displays of antiques. Cross one of the two pedestrian bridges to access Sa Teekh Wa Park, dedicated to the original native residents of the area. Just north of town is Pearrygin Lake State Park with fishing, camping, boating and
walking trails. Summer river rafting, hot air balloon rides, antique car shows, music festivals, poetry readings…there’s something for everyone!
